Players Championship Finals

The top 64 from a year of non-televised floor events, brought to Minehead for the last major before the World Championship.

Most of the professional darts year happens away from television, at Players Championship events played on a bank of boards in a conference hall. This is where that year gets settled.

Its position in the calendar gives it extra weight. It is the final chance to find form, and money won here still moves the Order of Merit before the World Championship seedings are locked.

The format

• Straight knockout, played in legs, from a last-64 first round.
• Matches lengthen round by round through to the final.
• Sixty-four players across three days, so the schedule is dense and the early rounds are fast.

How players qualify

• The top 64 on the one-year ProTour Order of Merit, which counts prize money from Players Championship and European Tour events only.

The last 10 champions, most recent first.

Michael van Gerwen has won this seven times and reached sixteen finals, a level of consistency at one event that nothing else on the tour matches.
