Grand Slam of Darts

The only major that starts with a group stage, so everybody who turns up gets at least two televised matches before anyone goes home.

The Grand Slam of Darts 2026 runs 14 to 22 November 2026 at WV Active Aldersley, Wolverhampton, live in the UK on Sky Sports. The prize fund is £1,000,000, with £200,000 to the winner.

The 2026 page: dates, draw and favourites

The Grand Slam is an invitational built around players who have reached major finals and semi-finals, plus the top of other countries’ rankings. That mix, and the group format, is why it produces pairings you would never get from a straight knockout.

The group stage also makes it the friendliest major for a neutral. Nobody is eliminated on the first night, so the tournament builds rather than thins out.

The format

• A round-robin group stage first. From 2026 the field is 48, drawn into sixteen groups of three, so everyone plays two group matches and the top two in each group go through to a last-32 knockout.
• The top 16 qualifiers are seeded into separate groups by PDC ranking; the rest are drawn in from two pots, 17 to 32 and 33 to 48.
• Straight knockout from there, played in legs, with the matches getting longer as the rounds go on.
• Because group results can come down to leg difference, the final night of groups often matters more than the score in any single match.

How players qualify

• Invitational. Places go to players who have reached major finals and semi-finals over the qualifying period.
• Further places go to the top of other countries’ respective rankings, which is what gives the field its unusual spread.

Prize money

The 2026 prize fund is £1 million, with £200,000 to the winner. Even finishing third in a group pays £5,000.

Fixtures and sessions

How the week is laid out. Sessions are published well ahead and rarely move.

• Group matches run across the first four days, usually two sessions a day.
• Knockout rounds from the fifth day, with the final on the closing Sunday evening.

The draw. Groups are drawn once the invited field is announced, a couple of weeks before the event.

Who is favourite to win the Grand Slam of Darts 2026?

The draw is not out yet. Going by the world rankings, the players to beat are Luke Littler (world number 1), Luke Humphries (world number 2) and Gian van Veen (world number 3). Win chances for every player go up here once the draw is made.

Gerwyn Price won three in a row from 2018 to 2021, with the 2020 edition going to José de Sousa in between.

Shown live in the UK on Sky Sports. That means a Sky Sports subscription, or NOW. The schedule page lists which broadcaster has each event.

Is there a free live stream of the Grand Slam of Darts?

Not a free one, no. In the UK it is live on Sky Sports, so you need a Sky Sports subscription, or a NOW Sports membership (which you can buy by the day) to stream it without Sky. Sites offering a free stream of Sky's coverage are not legal and are a common source of scams and malware.

• Outside the UK and Ireland: PDCTV streams it, on subscription.
