How to keep score in 501

Both players start on 501. After each visit of three darts, write what you scored and take it away from what you had left. The first player to reach exactly zero wins the leg, and the last dart must land on a double or the bullseye. If a visit would take you below zero, or leave you on 1, it is a bust: the score for that visit does not count and you stay where you were.

Each leg has room for sixteen visits a player, which is 48 darts each. The 501 rules page covers the rest, and the checkout chart tells you what to aim for once you are under 170.
